Meuse-Argonne Battlefield Tours

Maarten Otte, a long-time resident of the region, is a battlefield guide, amateur historian and author of several books on the American Expeditionary Force in World War I published by Pen & Sword Books in the UK and Fortress Books in the US. Meuse-Argonne Battlefield Tours specialises in the AEF and offers morning guided tours, day trips and individual tours "in the footsteps".

Morning tours

Meuse-Argonne Battlefield Tours provides morning walks of approximately 2.5 hours in Montfaucon d'Argonne and Nantillois with Maarten as your guide. You will be informed about the historical importance of the region and the battles at Montfaucon and Nantillois through many remains that can still be found after 100 years. If you look closely, history is everywhere.

The price of a morning walk is € 25.00 per person.

Day tour

With Maarten as your battlefield guide, Meuse-Argonne Battlefield Tours offers a wide range of touring options. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the battlefield, Maarten can explain the events on the battlefields of Meuse-Argonne, St. Mihiel, Verdun and the Sedan campaign of 1870. Of course, the tours can be tailor-made on request. We have already organised hundreds of specialised 'in the footsteps of your family' tours.

During a day tour it is possible to visit not only the highlights of a particular battlefield, but also lesser-known places. Everything is possible. The price for a normal day tour starts at € 250.00. For larger groups and coaches, other prices apply, which may also depend on the amount of research/preparation required.
